Hollow Lantern

Hollow Lantern is a moody little adventure game where you explore an abandoned town and slowly piece together what happened to it. It's mostly about tapping around, collecting items, and solving environmental puzzles that fit the story.

The atmosphere is the real draw. The art is hand-drawn and a bit unsettling, the ambient sound does a lot of heavy lifting, and there's a genuine sense of loneliness that hangs over everything. Puzzles are logical rather than obscure, so you rarely get stuck for the wrong reasons.

We finished it in about four sittings and thought about it afterward, which is more than we can say for most mobile games. It's short, but it lingers.
